Stepping Out of the Virtual World: Ways to Make Real Connections with Customers

These days, most entrepreneurs are fully focused on how they can build links with customers online. When all your energy goes into creating virtual links between your business and its customers, something is lost. Having that physical and real world connection with customers is still worth something.

Here’s how you can step out of the virtual world for a second, and make real connections with customers.

    Try Guerilla Marketing

If you’ve never heard of guerilla marketing before, the idea is quite simple. It’s any form of marketing that is unusual and has a presence in the real world. These forms of marketing are usually found in public places. It could be an eye-catching and provocative advert projected onto the side of a building. Or you could create a huge public work of art. Anything that causes to stop and have a look at what your business is doing is guerilla marketing. It should also have a real aim. You want people to learn something about your business and what it has to offer them.

Give People Something to Take Away After Each Sale

Whenever you make a sale, you should send the customer away happy. But why not go a step further? Rather than simply sending them away happy, why not give them something take with them. This will help to keep your company in the customer’s mind. You can get enamel pins with your message printed on them, for example. These physical mementos are fun little items that people will appreciate. And every time they look at them, they will be reminded of your company. That can only be a good thing for the business in the long-run.

Get Involved in Non-Business Activities in the Local Area

There are all kinds of things your business can do in the local community. By taking part in these things, your business and the people who work for you can build connections. It’s a case of putting down roots and making the business feel a part of the community. You could help social enterprises of non-profit organisations in the local area. These things don’t have to have a direct route to making money for them to be worthwhile for your company. Building connections with real people is a positive thing in itself. So, give it a try and see how it works out.

Always Be Happy to Answer Questions and Give Your Time

When your customers come to you, they might not even know what they want. This is why you need to be on hand to offer as much help and assistance as possible. If you don’t give this, your customers might not buy from you. So, take the chance to build those vital connections with customers whenever you can. It’s something that should really help your business to succeed in the long-term. Don’t make customers feel like they’re being a nuisance when they ask questions or take up your time. This should be something you enjoy and want to do.
