Selling Your House? Easy Ways To Increase The Value

Going through a home sale can be a stressful time. There are so many things to take into account- finances, solicitors, estate agents. And that’s before you’ve even started thinking about your new home, and everything that comes along with a house move. But when you’re selling your home, it makes sense to do everything you can to boost the valuation and get as much as you can for it. Luckily there are some easy ways to do so.

    Clean And Declutter

Potential buyers will be walking around your home and trying to imagine themselves in it. The best way you can help them to do this is, by making the place look as clean and clutter-free as possible. Remove any personal touches but keep a few basic things in each space to keep it looking homely. For example, you could remove things like photographs and personal trinkets. But keep out a couple of plants, one or two pieces of artwork and some cushions to stop it from looking too bare and stark.

    Sort Any Repairs

Buyers will want to pay less if there are areas of disrepair, and that’s if they’ll still put in an offer at all. Lots of people want a ‘move in ready’ home and anything that looks like it could be hard work or expensive could be off-putting. This could be a matter of replacing cracked slabs or tiles, sorting leaky taps or filling in cracks and holes. It might not seem like a big deal, but these things can all add up and put off potential buyers.

    General Redecoration

You might not like the idea of repainting your house when you’re not going to be around to enjoy it. However, a house that looks tidy and freshly painted will attract much more attention and higher prices than one which looks shabby and in need of work. Something as simple as freshening up the walls with a coat of paint really could make all the difference. You could either do it yourself or enlist the help of decorators like globaldecorating.com.au for instance. It’s a good way to add value to your property.

    Sort The Gardens

The front garden and outside space is the first thing a buyer will see when they come to view your home. Don’t put them off before they’ve even stepped through the door! Mow grass, prune back plants and clear the area around the front door. Things like bicycles, shoes and tools should be moved somewhere else especially while viewings are taking place. To take things a step further and add curb appeal, you could add a new welcome mat and some hanging baskets to the door area. Pots of flowers are a fast way to make everything look brighter and well cared for.

    Add Decking

As with the painting, you might think that adding things like decking when you won’t be there to enjoy it is a waste of money. But actually, decking has been shown to a considerable amount of value onto homes. It will need to be done well and so calling in a professional is crucial. But if you want to boost the value of your property as much as possible this is a good way to go about it.
